Wurkkafee Provinciehuis Fryslân

The Wurkkafee in the Province House Friesland is a spacious and modern working and meeting space. The interior exudes an open and inviting atmosphere, partly due to the use of light colours, a combination of imitation wooden floors and dark accents, and many natural elements such as plants. The space features various seating options, including high tables with bar stools, long rows of tables with chairs in different colours, and comfortable sofas with soft upholstery.

The curtains play an important role in the design. Along the right side of the room hangs a long wall of soft green inbetween curtains (Sonora 03) that cover almost the entire height of the room. These durable curtains give an elegant look and provide a subtle separation from the outside world. They soften the light coming in and contribute to acoustics, making the room suitable for both work and relaxation. The use of textiles adds warmth and softness to the sleek and functional interior.

In the background are dense taupe curtains (Flamondo 21), which separate the kitchen and buffet from the meeting area. The choice to screen off the kitchen contributes to a quiet atmosphere in the Wurkkafee, by muffling the sounds of kitchen equipment and conversations from the kitchen staff. This contributes to a quiet atmosphere in the meeting place, which is important for a pleasant working or relaxing environment. Shielding the kitchen also ensures that any mess or dishes in the kitchen are not visible to visitors. This maintains a professional and tidy appearance of the meeting space.

The curtain creates a clear visual boundary between the functional kitchen and the aesthetically designed meeting area, making the space clearer and more attractive to users. This solution is simple and flexible: the curtain can be slid open for access or remain closed to create a more private atmosphere, depending on needs.

Sonora is a trendy transparent fire-retardant curtain fabric with a durable footprint. Its open structure is fused with a technologically advanced material. To produce Sonora, used plastic PET bottles are collected and converted into reusable polyester yarn. This process is significantly more energy-efficient than for new polyester and reduces the use of natural resources. Sonora is available in 9 inspiring colours.

Flamondo is a supple fire-retardant textured curtain fabric made from 100% recycled polyester. It has a sophisticated structure at the front and an even look at the back. Thanks to its double-sided structure, Flamondo can be used on both sides for two different looks. Flamondo is a versatile fabric suitable for any interior and ideal for the project market. Flamondo has a colour palette of 24 colours.
