Work cafe municipality of Opsterland

In this design, sustainability and circularity were high on the agenda of design firm Studio Oak, in line with Opsterland Municipality's strong responsibility in this area.

The work café is a modern, bright space with an inviting atmosphere. In the center of the room hangs a curtain of the Sonora fabric, a durable transparent, in light green-blue that subtly divides the room. Sonora fabric is an openwork fabric with a mesh structure. Sonora is fire retardant and made with recycled PET.

The natural look of the curtain matches the sustainable elements of the interior, such as the wooden doors and floors. The materials are eco-friendly and carefully chosen to minimize the carbon footprint. Furthermore, a vertical garden on the back wall brightens up the space, reinforcing the focus on sustainability and a healthy living environment. The curtain is not only decorative, but also serves as a functional solution to naturally regulate light.
