Hotel de ABDIJ

Hotel de ABDIJ is located in a historic building from 1535 on the market square in fortified Dokkum. It breathes the language of the past, in a modern and luxurious jacket.

In the hotel rooms, a contemporary, warm look was chosen with respect for the old details. The window coverings dress the rooms in exactly that way. The curtains are made of the black-out fabric Matter 14 and lined with Dasher 14. Matter has a coarse square weave, like a chessboard pattern in one colour. This weave, combined with the black rings, give the curtains a sporty and modern character. The inbetween is made of Comolino 14, a very finely woven fabric with a natural look. Thanks to this fine inbetween, the weave of the Matter curtain fabric is accentuated even more.

Thanks to the rich history of this property, different windows have been created over the years. On the ground floor are very tall windows, and on the upper floors both dormers and skylights. The hotel owner wanted as similar a look and warmth in the window coverings as possible. This was created by using a double rod for the inbetween and the overcurtain, both in the high windows and in the dormer windows. For the skylights, a rod was chosen above and below, so that curtains could be hung here as well.
